Why is custom better?
Firstly, it’s all about the quality. Nothing beats a solid wood piece of furniture that was built to last a lifetime. Living in Oklahoma, we know how the climate here can play havoc on our furnishings. So it makes sense having pieces that were built to survive here.
Secondly is design. The last few years we’ve seen the farmhouse boom, and most of the people we know now have the same style dining table. Having an original piece of furniture gives a sense of pride in your home, and a little bit of envy in your friends.
Where are we located?
We’re located one half mile north of Waterloo, on the west side of Broadway, in north Edmond, Oklahoma.
Do we guarantee our work?
Since 1996 I’ve stood behind every piece I’ve built. If you experience any type of flaw in the structure or finish of one of our pieces, just give me a call. We’ll pick it up, repair it and have it back to you as soon as possible.
Had a mishap? I understand that accidents can happen. If one of our pieces has become accidentally damaged, just call and schedule a repair. You’ll only be charged for the actual time and materials it takes to fix it. We love our pieces as much as you do, and we want them to last you a lifetime!
Please be aware that all furniture makers have their own “style” and methods of construction, joinery and finishing, and for this reason all clients must be willing to receive a product that was built to my methods and standards.
I use methods that I believe to be the most durable and long lasting. If you are seeking a specific type, style, or look to your piece, it is recommended that you visit my shop and inspect my methods and products first hand. I guarantee the durability of my products, but I cannot guarantee to meet every expectation of style or design.
It is the customers’ responsibility to be aware of what they will receive; returns will not be accepted based on an expectation of style.
How do we price our pieces?
All of our pieces are priced based on the materials used and the labor time required to complete the piece. This will include transportation and milling costs for the materials.
Do we have a minimum order?
Yes, we have a $1500 minimum order, this can be multiple pieces. Since we finish mill and prep all the wood for the pieces we make, we may have 4-6 hours of work getting the wood ready to build with. This takes all the profitability out of smaller pieces. We can build multiple small pieces together to make up the total. For instance; a coffee table and 2 side tables that total $1500.
PLEASE NOTE: This does not apply to stand alone table tops. Stand alone tabletops, Finished or unfinished can be purchased without minimum.
How long does a custom piece take to make?
PLEASE NOTE: That due to the Covid virus and its impact on American industry and transport, most pieces are now requiring longer for material acquisition. This is out of our control and we apologize for the longer delivery times.
A straightforward table design will usually take around 16 weeks to deliver. Custom designs that require engineering or prototyping will take up to 6 months. We ask that you allow 6 months delivery on all custom pieces.
What types of furniture do we build?
We pride ourselves on being Oklahoma’s full line custom furniture maker. Meaning we will design and build any type and style of piece, with your choice of new material. And yes, we build dining chairs. Lots of dining chairs!

Do we do repairs/refinishing?
At this time we do not take on any outside repairs, refinishes, or repurposes. I’m always happy to refer anyone to a qualified servicer, whether you’re a customer or not. Just contact me with a description of what you need repaired, and I’ll point you in the right direction. We always provide repairs for pieces that we’ve created.
Where do our materials come from?
We try to source our materials as close to home as possible, with the bulk of our oak, hickory, pecan, and walnut coming from the Oklahoma/Texas region. During peak building seasons, some overflow material will come from the Appalachian Mountains region. Our maple and Cherry come from the northern United States, and our mahogany comes from sustainable farms in central Africa. All of the wood we use is FSC certified from sustainable sources. We never use endangered woods or woods from ecologically challenged areas.
Do we use reclaimed woods?
Simple answer: No. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has ruled that all furniture makers must adhere to the Furniture Compliance Requirements set forth in NIST Form 8119. This means that no furniture manufacturer, large or small, can produce furniture from wood that has been chemically treated or contaminated. Most of the reclaimed wood in the Midwest comes from industrial, railway, and agricultural sources and most of those woods have been treated or contaminated. The alternative would be to test every piece of wood to prove that it is chemical free, so we have opted to avoid these woods all together as to prevent any liability on our part. We can however age and distress new woods to look like reclaimed. On a personal note; we believe that you and your family deserve better than a potentially dangerous product in your home.
Can you supply your own wood?
Absolutely! If you happen to have wood that has been milled and is dry and stable enough to use, we will gladly build with it. Finish milling charges will apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We CAN NOT guarantee the structural integrity of provided woods. There are many factors that determine how wood will act over the course of its use. Provided woods may warp, twist, crack or gap over their lifetime. We will repair these defects if they happen, and you’ll only be charged for the actual time and materials it takes to fix them.
ARE our materials safe for children and pets?
100% Yes! Our process and materials are compliant with state and federal regulations as to the safe manufacture of furniture. We never use pressure treated, chemically treated, or contaminated woods. We never use laminates, veneers or plywood treated or containing formaldehyde. We never use reclaimed wood that may be chemically treated or contaminated. We never use materials imported from areas with unregulated trade. Material Safety Data Sheets are kept on site at all times for your inspection. If you’d like to know what’s in our products, just ask.
